Compare perforated metal sheet, expanded metal sheet and security screen mesh before sending a metal sheet or screen mesh RFQ. This hub is for buyers who need to choose the right sheet, opening, finish, packing and document route before opening a detailed product page.

3 product routesPerforated sheet, expanded sheet and security screen mesh are separate quotation routes.
Measurable specs firstMaterial, thickness or wire diameter, hole/opening, sheet or roll size and finish decide price basis.
Application matchingFacade, ventilation, guard, platform, screen, panel and distributor orders need different checks.
Documents by order scopeTDS, MTC, inspection photos, packing list, invoice and origin documents should be confirmed early.

How to choose metal sheet and screen mesh

Start with the shape of the opening and how the material will be used. Perforated sheet is punched from sheet metal, expanded metal is slit and stretched from one sheet, and security screen mesh is normally discussed by wire diameter, mesh opening and roll or sheet form.

Step 1

Confirm the product route

Choose perforated sheet for punched holes, expanded metal for diamond openings, or security screen mesh for protective window and door screen discussions.

Step 2

Send measurable fields

Provide material grade, thickness or wire diameter, opening size, pitch or LWO/SWO, sheet size, finish, quantity and drawing if available.

Step 3

Lock packing and documents

Confirm flat sheets, rolls, cut panels, wooden cases, pallets, labels, inspection photos and shipment documents before production timing is fixed.

Metal sheet and screen mesh product paths

Use these product paths to keep RFQs clear. If the buyer only sends a sample photo, choose the closest route first and then confirm the exact specification fields.

Punched sheet route

Perforated Metal Sheet

Use for round, square, slotted, decorative or custom punched panels where hole size, pitch and open area matter.

Expanded sheet route

Expanded Metal Sheet

Use for raised or flattened diamond mesh sheets used in platforms, guards, ventilation screens and architectural panels.

Protective screen route

Security Screen Mesh

Use for window and door screen mesh where material, wire diameter, mesh opening, coating and panel or roll form must be confirmed.

Application and RFQ specification fields

Metal sheet and screen mesh quotes become more reliable when drawings or sample photos are paired with measurable fields. Use this table before sending an inquiry.

RFQ field What to send Why it matters
Application Facade, guard, ventilation, filtration, platform, door/window screen, distributor stock or project drawing. The application changes material, opening, finish, flatness and packing priorities.
Material Carbon steel, galvanized steel, 304/316 stainless steel, aluminum alloy or buyer-specified material. Material grade affects price, corrosion discussion, available finish and document needs.
Opening basis Perforated: hole shape, hole size and pitch. Expanded: LWO, SWO and strand width. Screen mesh: mesh opening and wire diameter. Opening data is the production and quotation basis; photos alone are usually not enough.
Thickness or wire Sheet thickness for perforated sheet, raw sheet thickness for expanded metal, wire diameter for screen mesh. Thickness and wire diameter affect weight, rigidity, forming, packing and freight.
Size and form Sheet size, cut-to-size panel, roll, flat sheet, raised or flattened profile, edge processing or frame requirement. Size and form determine production route, packing volume and deformation protection.
Finish and color Galvanized, powder coated, PVDF, anodized, natural finish, epoxy coated, RAL color or sample reference. Finish should be confirmed before bulk production to avoid color, coating or exposure mismatch.
Packing and documents Wooden cases, pallets, cartons, labels, inspection photos, packing list, invoice, certificate of origin or requested test documents. Packing and document scope should be confirmed before shipment timing and loading plan are locked.

Quality, inspection and document support

ANJIA can coordinate measurement checks, document preparation and shipment records after the product route, material, opening, finish, packing and destination are confirmed. Document availability depends on product type, order requirement and requested standard.

The proof images are reference formats for sourcing discussion. They do not replace batch-specific inspection records, buyer drawings, purchase order requirements or third-party inspection arrangements.

Packing and export review notes

Flat sheets, cut panels, rolls and stacked mesh have different protection needs. Confirm packing early, especially when the order includes finished coating, labels or mixed sizes.

Packing topic What to confirm Risk reduced
Flat sheet stacking Waterproof paper, edge protection, wooden crate or pallet method. Reduces surface scratch, edge deformation and receiving confusion.
Roll or cut panel packing Roll wrapping, carton, foam protection, panel separation and label format. Helps protect screen mesh and keeps SKU identification clear.
Coated surface protection Color reference, finish sample, protective layer, handling marks and packing photo needs. Reduces mismatch between sample, production and buyer receiving check.
Container loading and documents Pallet plan, loading photos, packing list, invoice, certificate of origin and buyer-specific document names. Supports importer records and reduces post-shipment clarification work.

Common Questions

Is perforated metal the same as expanded metal?

No. Perforated metal is punched from sheet metal, so hole shape, hole size, pitch and open area are central. Expanded metal is slit and stretched, so LWO, SWO, strand width, sheet thickness and raised or flattened profile are central.

What details are needed for a perforated metal sheet quote?

Please send material, sheet thickness, hole shape, hole size, pitch, open area if specified, sheet size, surface finish, edge processing, quantity, drawing and destination.

What details are needed for an expanded metal sheet quote?

Please send material, raw sheet thickness, LWO, SWO, strand width, sheet size, raised or flattened profile, surface treatment, quantity, packing and destination.

Can security screen mesh be supplied as rolls or cut sheets?

Roll, flat sheet or cut-to-size panel supply can be discussed. Confirm material, wire diameter, mesh opening, coating, color, size tolerance and packing before quotation.

Can custom drawings or samples be used for production review?

Yes. Drawings, photos or physical samples help confirm opening, thickness, material, finish and edge details. Final feasibility and production timing are confirmed after all order requirements are reviewed.

Can ANJIA provide certificates and order documents?
